Aryaman is an ardent learner.
Currently, he is inclined towards mathematics, science, and technology – eager and curious to learn, and explore the fields of science and innovation. Additionally, geopolitics and language are areas of interest. The nuances of languages and how that is interwoven with people, culture, and traditions is something he is really interested to learn.
He is passionate about debating. Researching controversial topics and learning more about them is something he loves, as much as going up on the stage and battling it out with statements, rebuttals, and questions. Space and Technology is another area of interest. He has represented Vidya Valley internationally at the National Space Society’s Space Development Conference and at the Indian National & Asian Regional Space Settlement Design Competitions, where he was elected as the systems engineer of the winning team.
Academically, Aryaman has received High Honours from the Centre for Talented Youth, Johns Hopkins University, and he has also represented the School at the Student leadership Conference 2023 where he further honed his leadership skills . Aryaman was recognised with the Outstanding student award in the 8th grade at Vidya Valley. He was also a part of a 4 student squad who received the opportunity to participate in a student exchange with Internat Solling, a german boarding school.
Aryaman has been part of the student council, with being elected as the vice-captain of his house last year, teaching him essential skills of leadership, teamwork and empathy. As head boy of Vidya Valley 2024-25, he plans to make inroads to work with teachers and students to create more opportunities for his fellow school mates to explore and learn.
In the realm of sports, he has been playing basketball and participates in long-distance athletic events, up to the regional level. Aryaman likes trekking too and he has completed couple of treks to the foothills of Himalayas with his trekking buddies. Playing guitar has taught him, how important music is to de-stress. Reading is another one of his hobbies.
In the Anthropocene, climate change and sustainability are not abstracts but concrete problems and he is actively engaged with Jeevitnadi, an NGO where we works to conserve the Mula-Mutha rivers which are the lifelines of Pune. In the Summer of 2024, Aryaman, with his friends and the NGO, they built a tree mapping platform to bring the trees on the river banks on the map for the authorities to document them and ensure preventing them from deforestation and river bank concretisation.
Bonds and friendship hold a special place in Aryaman’s heart and he is fortunate to be surrounded by an incredible group of friends who he deeply cherishes. He firmly believes that meaningful friendships are essential part of the person and he emphasizes the importance of cultivating honest connection.
