Sports Achievements by Students

Commitment to Physical Fitness

“Everyone must play” is a fundamental tenet of Vidya Valley School. We have a team of talented, experienced PE teachers, playing fields, facilities for indoor and outdoor sport, availability of play and coaching after school hours and weekends. Some boys and girls emerge each year who combine innate athleticism, love of sport, perseverance, and a will to excel. It is our pleasure to encourage and support these children. PE Teachers, external coaches, consultants, nutritionists are elements of our contribution. We work with their parents to help them in their aspirations for sporting excellence.

Sport Climbing

Youth climbing team at Malaysia

Meera Choudhary (4A, NP) won Gold in girls 6 to 9 years.
Ritisha Bramhecha (4A, NP) won Bronze in girls 6 to 9 years.
Rishi Pallod (3E) won Bronze in Boys 6 to 9 years.
Rudra Karandikar (7B) won Silver in Boys 10 to 13 years.

VVS boasts of an excellent Sports Climbing facility for Speed climbing, Lead Climbing, and Bouldering. Expert training has enabled our students to win laurels at National levels and compete in international competitions.

Arnav Khanzode at the age of 11 represented India at the Asia Championships in Beijing, China.
Soha Diwan participated in Asian and World Youth Competitions.
Nirmayee Neve won a silver medal at National Championships.

Athletics

Pranjali Jain was under 17 Girls won a Bronze Medal in 3000 Meters at the CISCE Regional Athletics.

Soham Birje was under 17 Boys won a Bronze Medal in 100 Meters at the CISCE Regional Athletics.

Rajas Nanda was under 19 Boys won a Silver Medal in 100 Meters at the CISCE Regional Athletics.

Rajas Nanda was under 19 Boys won a Silver Medal in 200 Meters at the CISCE Regional Athletics.

Adithya Hari was a Silver Medallist in 100 Meters at the National Championships.

Aryan Kadam represented Maharashtra in the CISCE National Championship.

The spirit of adventure

Vidya Valley and Giripremi, a prominent mountaineering club, are fostering a spirit of adventure in our students. by training them in trekking and mountaineering.

Football

Arsh Bagwan represented Maharashtra in The All India Junior Football Tournament held in Kolkata.

Taekwondo

CISCE Taekwondo Nationals Ahmedabad, Gujarat from Oct 3 to oct 7 2023.

12 Students participated out of which 8 secured Medals. (4 Golds, 1 Silver, 3 Bronze)

Arya Kemse won Gold in male under 25kg under 14 years.
Anisha Mithal won Gold in female under 32kg under 14 years.
Shivank Bhardwaj won Gold in male under 78kg under 17 years.
Nancy Singh won Gold in female under 59kg under 17 years.
Prathamesh Sutar won Silver in male under 48kg under 17 years.
Nia Doshi won Bronze in female under 68kg under 17 years.
Vihaan Madhok won Bronze in male under 48kg under 19 years.
Ratnadeep Landage won Bronze in male under 52kg under 19 years.

Trained and coached from Standard 1, our students participate in National and International Competitions.

Tanishqa Chopade competed at the Asian Cadet Championships 2019 in Amman, Jordan. and the World Cadet Taekwondo Championships at Tashkent Uzbekistan.

Basket Ball

Our Under 14 girls Team won the CISCE Basketball tournament, Zone 2 by defeating St. Mary’s 31-19.

Outstanding performance by team captain Siya Bhonsle who scored 19 points in the final match who was strongly supported by her team.

Roller Skating

Every student learns to skate from the age of 4 to develop coordination and balance and to overcome fear.

Durga Mirajkar continues to win Gold, Silver, Bronze medals at State Championships. She represented Maharashtra in the CISCE National Championships.

Mountaineering

Anand Mali, our PE Coach, is a highly experienced mountaineer who has been on many expeditions on the highest Himalayan peaks and climbed Mt. Everest in 2013. Sahil Joshi, Romir Mukherjee, and other students scaled Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa and Mt. Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe under Anand’s guidance.

Some of our students attend courses in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports, Manali (ABVIMAS).

Badminton

Konarak Inchekar wins Double Gold at CISCE Nationals

Tara Shah has been the under 14 and under 17 National Champion. She represented India at International Competitions in Myanmar.

Tennis

Anika Ruikar and Shibani Gupte won CISCE Regional Lawn Tennis competition.

Jay Dixit was a member of the Maharashtra under 17 Tennis Boys Team which won a Gold Medal at the CISCE National Championships.

Table Tennis

Maitreyi Gangal represented Maharashtra Under 14 at the Zonal and State ICSE Tournament in Bangalore.

Shooting

Maithili Kakad won a Bronze Medal at the 65th Maharashtra State Shooting Camp in Kolhapur.
