Our visit to the Nutri Millet Carnival at Symbiosis College on 11 th October 2023 was not only
an enjoyable experience but also an enlightening one. It was an honor and a privilege to
participate in an event that promotes healthy eating habits and inculcates the same in such an
engaging and enjoyable manner. This report highlights our observations and insights from the
event, emphasizing the valuable educational and entertaining aspects that the carnival offered.
Mrs. Kavitha Menon, who played a pivotal role in facilitating our visit, had thoughtfully
arranged for two volunteer students to accompany us. These student volunteers proved to be
invaluable as they engaged the children and ensured a smooth and enjoyable experience for
them.
One of the highlights of the carnival was the display of various educational games centered
around millet. These games were creative, informative, and very well designed for the
students to earn not only valuable information but also create inquisitive in them to learn
more about MILLETs.
A significant part of the carnival was the Master Chef competition, where students from
several colleges showcased their culinary skills by preparing dishes using millet as the
primary ingredient. We were glad to taste a few recipes. It was a delightful experience and
showcased the versatility of millets in modern cuisine. Our senior Home-Science students
bought some food items from the available stalls and relished them. It was an addition to their
knowledge.
The Nutri Millet Carnival at Symbiosis College was not only an educational event but also a
fun-filled experience for our children. They thoroughly enjoyed the various activities and
games, and their smiles and laughter were a testament to the carnival's success in engaging
and entertaining the young participants.
We are grateful to our school and especially our coordinator Jayashree Ma’am for giving us
this opportunity to be part of such a memorable event.
