Vidya Valley’s Interhouse Dance Competition: A Showcase of Talent and Teamwork

Competitions are a fantastic way to build confidence, encourage good sportsmanship, and
provide exposure to various fields, ultimately contributing to personal growth. Vidya Valley
School offers such opportunities through its Inter House competitions, allowing students to
showcase their talents and foster skills of teamwork and friendship.

The Interhouse Dance Competition, held on July 6, 2024, was a highly anticipated event filled
with excitement and tension. Fellow house members and captains supported their peers,
ensuring everything ran smoothly. Thanks to the efforts of the staff and hosts Ahana Dambalkar.
and Aryaman Deshmukh, the event was a resounding success.

The Juniors category embraced the theme of Heroes VS Villains. The performances began with
Cheetah, who brought nostalgic memories of the beloved Indian cartoon ‘Chhota Bheem aur
Krishna Vs Kirmada’ with a contemporary twist. Sher followed with a creative portrayal of
Spiderman Vs Venom, incorporating the unique element of Rope Mallakhamb. Puma then
delivered a patriotic performance, expressing gratitude towards the Indian Army. Jaguar
concluded the Juniors category with a stunning dance featuring Spider Gwen Vs Doc Ock.

The Seniors category tackled the important theme of Social Issues in the World. Jaguar opened
with an intricate dance featuring teamwork to form various formations like a plane, a lotus etc.
Cheetah depicted the heartbreaking consequences of the Israel-Palestine conflict. Puma
highlighted the issue of female infanticide, bringing the saying “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” to life.
Sher ended the category with an emotional dance on the impact of wars, masterfully
incorporating a classical element.

The most awaited part of the event was the announcement of results. In the Juniors category,
Sher secured 1st place, followed by Puma, Cheetah, and Jaguar. In the Seniors category, Puma
took 1st place, with Sher, Jaguar, and Cheetah following.

The Interhouse Dance Competition not only showcased phenomenal talent but also emphasized
the importance of teamwork and social awareness.
