We were given the project on a Friday. We made 6 groups of five to six people and had little time to really discuss on Friday. All the preparation had to be done over the weekend and the teams had to make their showcases on Monday in class. Each team had to do a different food chain, for example, my team did an aquatic food chain another team did a bird food chain. A Food Chain, by the way, is how food passes on from one organism to another or from one living thing to another. A rabbit eats a carrot from a plant, the tiger eats the rabbit, the tiger dies and bacteria and fungi decompose the dead tiger to give nutrients to the soil which provides them back to the plants – a food chain! On the weekend my team did Google meet calls on Saturday and Sunday to discuss ideas, and prepare and divide responsibilities for the project. Everyone did an amazing job which we could see on Monday. We had three periods to complete the project. It was actually pretty fun to do because it was like doing crafts, just as a team which is even better! It was great to see my classmates designing and coloring various animals, and plants and putting them together creatively to create the effect of actual chains. Of course, there were things that all of us could have done better but the teamwork was very clear as everyone made their contribution to the project. Our happy pictures taken by Pallavi Madam say it all. I think class 5 is now ready to take on tougher group projects that need us to coordinate outside school timing!
