Welcome To The Year 2020-2021 School Year

“Dear children,
Dear Parents,
Dear Teachers,

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!
A year that you will remember all your life!

To start the year without actually meeting the students feels so strange!

Standing in the School Campus – oh so quiet!
I miss the chattering of your voices! The bells! The prayers and the National Anthem sung at Assembly!

Children I miss you!”

As we embark on this unusual new journey in 2020, I look forward to the excitement that promises to unfold as we explore new ways of learning!

The excitement that forges a new kind of bond with our students, our partners, in this thrilling new adventure!

Children, it is true you are born techies and will teach us how to use technology to share our expertise and knowledge with you.

I consider the COVID-19 pandemic as an opportunity in education and not a crisis. It has allowed teachers and students to become co-learners and partners.
It has made us learn so many new skills.

Our teachers have been attending webinars and professional development workshops right through the vacations to equip themselves to make the online platform engaging.
It has made us all more creative, look for interesting ideas, learn and share.
This is not all.

People, more so children, tend to become self-centered and selfish when they have everything.

This challenging time has deprived us of so much that we took for granted, friends, our comfort, and so many other privileges, that it has awakened our sensitivity. Maybe we needed something so drastic to make us better human beings!

Parents, we seek your partnership more than ever to make learning meaningful for your children.

We aim to create a safe, nurturing environment during this challenging time. I thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue to work together.

Thank you, Children! Thank you Teachers for rising to the occasion.

Let us count our blessings INSTEAD of looking on the dark side of things.

I quote a few, random lines from Kathleen O’Meara’s poem 1869

‘..and people healed
And when the danger ended…they made new choices
And dreamed of new visions…..and created new ways of life
And healed the earth completely…..just as they were healed themselves.’

Take care!
