The Virtual Year -Every cloud has a silver lining

Often you think you’re at the end of something,

but you’re at the beginning of something else.

It does not matter where you came from.

All that matters is where you are going.”

Yes, this is so true. When the pandemic turned the world upside down, things were not the same for any one of us. But each one of us stood up and faced the reality with viguor,  impetus and zeal.

We always need to look forward and not backwards. If we follow this, we all shall move closer and faster towards our goal.

We teachers for whom their classroom, board and chalk were the things of prime importance when it came to school, were forced to change their priority and shift to laptop, mike, mute, presentations and online activities.

The challenge of upgrading ourselves and learning the technology was a tough task but was accepted without any inhibitions. Never in our dreams did we imagine teaching our children ‘Online’.

We met our dear ones Online for the first time. We did not know them nor did they. But as the time passed the bond between us grew stronger and was nurtured by love and respect for each other.

The little things that we did for them brought a big smile on their lovely faces and boosted our confidence to try new things.

The 3 activity calendars and 2 mega projects along with academics were the highlights of this virtual year. Children participated with enthusiasm and were excited to be a part of all these.

How can we forget the efforts of the parents without whose help nothing could have been possible. They were encouraging, appreciative and supportive in all that we did for our children. They simply complemented us and thus we all sailed smoothly through this virtual year 2020-21.

This year taught us many things like – being all the more patient, more appreciative, more emphathetic, strong and accepting. Instilling values through stories and simple presentations was a task but very proudly can say that it did have an impact on the children and this initiative was applauded by the parents too.

To end would just like to say that …..

The adversity we face and resilience we respond with, has the power to shape our lives and others too. We have grown confident, compassionate and more grateful human beings.

We know that ….

‘Good things don’t come easily, we need to work hard to get them.’
